Herein, in the rest
of this exposition, evidence is presented that supports the position that God's
image is a Masculine Image.
To begin
there are some instances in the Bible where someone in the spirit has looked at the
person of God the Father, and that person always identifies God the Father as appearing
as a man. Thereby, God's image as God the Father is the image he gave to man in creation
and that image is a masculine one. Below are some excerpts from the Bible with reference
to God's masculinity underlined which shows this.
Ezekiel
1:26 “And above the firmament that
was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire
stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance
of a man above upon it.”
Ezekiel
1:27 “And
I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from
the appearance of his loins even
upward, and from the appearance of his
loins even downward, I saw as
it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.
Ezekiel
1:28 “As
the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so
was the
appearance
of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of
the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard
a voice of one that spake.”
Ezekiel
2:1 “And he
said unto
me, ...”
Daniel
7:9-10 “I
beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient
of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his
head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery
flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued
and came forth from before
him:
thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand
stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.”
Revelation
4:2-3 “And
immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven,
and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was
to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about
the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.”
Also, Jesus in his time on earth refers to God
in the first person as a Father numerous times including Mathew 5:16, 6:9, 6:32,
7:21, 10:33, 11:25, 18:19 and in other instances contained in that Book of the
Gospel and in the others as well.
