The Concceptual Understanding of the New Covenant Christian Image of God Contrasted with the Concept of the Image of God Refered to in Genesis through a Oranges to Orange Analogy

.>

Often confused by the use of similar vernacular terms, the Image of God chiefly applicable in Christianity is not the same concept of the Image of God present in Genesis though both concepts are fundamentally present and true in Christian practice simultaneously. It brings to mind the old adage in the phrase “comparing apples to oranges”, but only in so much as bringing to the forefront a superior alliterative analogy, that of comparing “an orange to orange”.

The Christian concept of the image of Jesus Christ imparted upon believers in either and/or the baptism(s) of both water and spirit in the receiving of Jesus as Lord and Savior (or being applicable only in the case of the latter spirit baptism), it, the Christian Image of God in Jesus Christ, exists metaphysically as non materialistic, not delimited by physical appearance or composition of gender, as a spiritual quality wherein the recipients by spiritual transaction are uniquely conferred upon as vessels for the Holy Spirit as Christ Jesus was unique vessel for the Holy Spirit. Herein, is the Christian Image of God ,which in actuality is not a physical image but rather the essence of Christ, the Lord's righteousness imparted spiritually upon a soul. The Image of God referred to explicitly in Genesis, is a quality conferred upon the male gender of humanity only by physical birth through means of inheritance in abstraction from God's creationist design, and likewise tangible in both Christianity and reality itself, both materialistically and spiritually. And this is because all of Gods pronouncements in creation and in the fall of mankind detailed in Genesis are still in effect today as they have always been in every age, even the ages following the coming of Messiah.

Congruently, it is likened to the analogy of comparing “an orange to orange” where neglecting certain genetic variations, the common citrus fruit generally composed in appearance of like color is compared to the hue of light pertaining to the color of the same name, the color “orange” itself. Similarly, this is just as the Image of Christ Jesus in duplicate vernacular understanding relates analogously as both distinct in primary Christian emphasis (spiritual Christian Image of Christ as in “essence”) as the imparted symbolic spiritually perfect nature of the Lord, the son of God, a soul characterized by a life of perfect obedience unto God in law and prophecy, in the fulfillment of all righteousness, and in addition, by Genesis encapsulation (bearing God's image in physical appearance as “vera homo”, fully man, in his male gender from birth in accordance with Genesis inheriting his image directly from God the Father through conception from the Holy Spirit. Mathew 1:18) as Christ also possessed the Image of God in his humanity in accord with Genesis 1:27 being born a male child of a virgin. Analogously, just as all oranges of a certain common genetic variation appear “orange” in their color so do men posses in their physical image the Image of God in accordance with Genesis, but not all things “orange” in color bear fruit at all time as likewise men whether they know it or not, do not bring forth the fruit of eternal righteousness except they abide on the vine of Jesus Christ. (John 15:1-4)
